How much experience in the hot tub business?
5 years, so we have a fair idea of what to do and what's needed, hiring a hot tub is still fairly new to Scotland but is catching on pretty fast, even more so with the credit crunch seemingly, so it may be a good idea to book ahead this year going by the enquiries we are getting,
Payment details-we do not ask for initial deposit or balance in advance as other hot tub hire companies require, payment is C.O.D. once hot tub tub is installed, filled up and shown working. Please make sure your booking is sound to avoid others missing out and full amount agreed ready for payment.
Areas we deliver to Free- Edinburgh, 25 mile radius, outwith areas subject to fair mileage charge or nil by agreement.
What's needed for installation and general advice
Reasonably flat level surfaces at least 7ft in diameter, grass or patio okay- very "slight" gradient allowed up to 2" max drop over 7ft. No good on long rough grass, or really lumpy surfaces. If unsure please ask before booking.
13 amp socket up to 15 yards approximately max from site of hot tub. Pacing out 15 long strides should give you this distance.
Water supply can be up to 15 yards approximately away, normally taken from garden mains tap, plus inside hot and cold tap supplies may also be needed. (We have connectors for most taps and hoses).
Filling and installation of hot tub can take up to 2 hours or less dependent on water pressure and type of tub.
Haliburton heating time can take up to 36 hours in very rare circumstances where there is no hot water, 24 hours on average if you have a hot water cylinder or combi boiler etc. ie 350 gallons of water needs heating.
Lay z Spa takes roughly 15hrs to heat from cold water fill, can be much faster using your hot water also. Max temp 40°C or 104°F.
Heating costs - it roughly takes £4-£5 to heat our largest tub (1600 litres) and less than £1 a day to keep it at 40°C or 104°F with the tub cover on.
Please note -The vast majority of hot tubs sold or hired in the UK do start to cool down after a period of time - up to 3 hours once tub cover is off and more so if pumps or heated air blower are in use for extended periods of time. Heating element comes back on once these are not in use, put lid/cover on to help re-heat.
What You Get
Tubs fully sanitised prior to delivery
When we deliver the hot tub, we will assemble the spa, show you how to apply chlorine, sanitisers etc - real easy to do, when the tub is filling up we will guide you through all that you need to know for a trouble free hire. All you may have to do is disconnect hose from tap once filled up.
What you will get supplied with a standard hire:
Spa complete with insulated cover.
Set of instructions and guidance notes.
Sanitisers i.e. chemicals with instructions.
Up to 15 yards waterproof extension lead.
RCD (Electrical circuit breaker plug for outside appliances).
Champagne bucket if required plus ducks!
Last Day of Hire--Pick up Details.
Please note power must be left on prior to us arriving.
We will come and drain down the hot tub on agreed date. Normally the water is pumped into an outside drain 95% of the time - at other times we will find an alternative way of draining the tub.
The hot tub is then cleaned and dismantled by us and all taken away. This takes approximately 2hrs hours.
Hot tub power should be left on where possible, you can reduce temp right down if finished using tub, it may be possible for us to arrange an earlier pick up date if you require it.
You do not have to be home for us to pick up Hot Tub providing you tell us first and the hot tub doesn't have any damage, if you could leave out our RCD, cable, champers bucket + chemicals. And leave out (your own extension cable switched on) if no outside socket available, we will need power to pump away water, put your socket end and cable in a safe dry area/container/ rubbish bin/sealed plastic bag.
If no power left on for us at day of pick we would have to empty tub into garden.
Are Spas/Hot Tubs Good for You?
Hydrotherapy has been part of civilised life for thousands of years with the Romans especially expanding its use. Technical advances these days make it possible for us all to experience that feel-good factor as they did, with spas now widely available throughout the world.
Positive Effects
The principal effect of hydrotherapy is water buoyancy, its optimum temperature (37-39°C) and aimed water flow. Hydrotherapy strengthens blood circulation, decreases blood pressure, improves skin tones, relaxes muscles and stimulates the immune system. It beneficially affects the human psyche as well as eliminating anxiety, tension and depression. When relaxing in a spa, the brain releases endorphins that ease pain, have an overall relaxing effect and induce a good mood.
Relaxation
When in the spa you will experience the feeling of weightlessness, the joints take a rest from the continuous effects of gravity since the body weight is decreased by 85-90% in the water. The immersion of the body into a hot spa soothes and relaxes the body while the activity of the internal organs becomes slower - that is the thermal effect of hydrotherapy. The physical effect of hydrotherapy is short and long-term pain relief. The spas hydrotherapy benefits for rehabilitation after physical sport and a soak along with a massage diminishes lactic acid that can build up in the body causing stiffness and pain. New research shows that hot tub bathing can also assist with weight loss.
Therapy
A spa also has a healing benefit - apart from other things, it helps in the treatment of arthritis and rheumatic pain. People suffering from painful joints are recommended to have a morning soak in a hot tub prior to commencing their daily activities. Positive effects of hydrotherapy on the health of people suffering from Type II Diabetes have been recently discovered. The regular use of a spa can even help avoid problems with insomnia.
Massage Systems
Whilst water massage has more of a deep tissue massage character, affecting the relaxation of muscles and joints, air massage has a soft tissue impact with effects on skin receptors. The air jets have up to 135 outlets - model dependant - through which soothing air bubbles are delivered into the water. Air massage transmits the relaxing vibrations into the whole body.
Toxins are released through perspiration from the skin which is great for the body, it can take up to 20 minutes to cool down when exiting spa even in our winters.info@hottubhireedinburgh.co.uk
